Nathan Hayes je hluboce nábožensky založen muž, pro kterého je jeho farma vším. Příliš se mu ale nedaří, navíc má o farmu zájem nečestný realitní agent, který doufá, že právě tato oblast, bude vybrána na výstavbu přehrady a rekreačního centra. Situace se ještě zhorší, když jedné noci na farmu dopadne neznámý objekt, ze kterého následně vyteče podivná kapalina, což odstartuje sérii podivných událostí. Nathanův nevlastní syn Zack tuší, že vše souvisí s vodou a tak ji odmítne užívat. Většina osadenství farmy však vodu vesele užívá i nadále a to pro různé účely, což nevěstí nic dobrého.
